DiCaprio Is *Almost* About to Overtake De Niro As Scorsese’s Most Frequent Collaborator

It’s been two years since The Wolf of Wall Street, which was not only the last time we saw DiCaprio and Scorsese join forces but the last time either of them lent their talent to the big screen. It was also – let’s face it – the best film either of them had made for a long time. Now the powerhouse duo are gearing up for their sixth collaboration together, which means DiCaprio is now just two films away from overtaking De Niro as Scorsese’s most worked with thesp. It’s gonna happen.

Back in the day, De Niro and Scorsese were as inseparable as Mork and Mindy. The pair knocked out as many as eight hits together, including Raging Bull and Taxi Driver. Then, in the mid-90s, something happened. The bromance ended. But it’s okay because Scorsese, on the rebound, formed a new bromance with Leo, and the pair have made nearly six films together, collaborating happily ever after. <3 <3 <3

Over a decade in the works, The Devil in the White City will see DiCaprio play 19th century serial killer Dr HH Holmes, who murdered between 27 and 200 people, predominantly single young women. The Chicago-set film, according to Variety, tells the intertwining stories of fair architect Daniel H. Burnham and Holmes, who used a hotel he built near the fairgrounds to lure his victims. DiCaprio climbed aboard the project in 2010. He's keen. He want's an award. But he won't get one. Because he never does.
