Gia Milani Wins Grolsch Film Works' Discovery Award for 'All The Wrong Reasons'

It's been decided. After much deliberation the 2013 Grolsch Film Works Discovery Award has gone to Gia Milani, for her extraordinary feature debut All the Wrong Reasons.

The Canadian director's film, starring the late Glee actor Cory Monteith, picked up our award today, which was presented by the Festival's Artistic Director Cameron Bailey. Fending off stiff competition from 27 other exceptional films in the programme, All the Wrong Reasons has earned Milani $10,000 in prize money to put towards her next directorial project.

The film, an ensemble indie drama about four intersecting lives in a department store, stars Monteith as a store manager whose wife (Karine Vanasse) suffers from PSTD. Shot in the summer of 2012 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, All the Wrong Reasons was five years in the making.
