Jeff Buckley Film Trailer Lands

No, we're not talking about the reported Amy Berg film, Mystery White Boy, that still hasn't come to fruition. We're talking about Daniel Algrant's now complete, and rather brilliant-looking, Greetings From Tim Buckley, starring Penn Badgley as our boy Jeff.

Not the conventional biopic that will no doubt arrive soon, Algrant's film, billed as "the true story of the rise of Jeff Buckley", chronicles the days leading up to Jeff's performance at his father's tribute concert in 1991.

From the trailer, it's clear to see that casting Badgley, a relative unknown (unless you've seen Gossip Girl, that is), was the best way to go, rather than casting a recognisable face like, say, James Franco (he's got enough on his plate, let's be honest). Get a load, also, of Imogen Poots as Jeff's love interest Allie. With these poignant-looking performances, our hopes are high. How about you?

The film is due out in the U.S. on April 16th. Stay tuned for more info.
