Jeremy Renner May Play Julian Assange In WikiLeaks Film

We were wondering when we’d see a film about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. He’s just such a great character, isn't he? But thinking about who would be best to play him in a film, we sure as hell didn’t picture The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner.

Indiewire reports that 41-year-old Renner is looking at playing Assange (also 41), while Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) may climb into the director’s chair.

A wile back Dreamworks acquired the rights to "Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World's Most Dangerous Website" which was scribed by Daniel Domscheit-Berg, a WikiLeaks defector. Sounds like it could be a bit of a biased view, no?

Other than not really looking like Assange (or does he?), we’re wondering how Renner will pull off the Aussie accent... G’day, mate.

Who do you think should play Julian Assange?
