New Olivier Assayas Film To Star Kristen Stewart

So, who has actually shed their Twilight skin and morphed into a 'mature' thespian? R-Patz or K-Stew? Well, neither really. But both have made reasonably good efforts, what with Pattinson's turn in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis and Stewart's stellar performance in Walter Salles' Kerouac adaptation, On The Road. But now it looks like Stewart is about to take the lead in the arthouse stakes with a role in Olivier Assayas' upcoming drama Sils Maria.

Stewart will join the likes of Juliette Binoche and Chloe Moretz, in the story of an older actress (Binoche) who gets obsessed-over by a younger thesp (Moretz) taking on a role the older actress made famous (sounds kinda like All About Eve, no?). Stewart will play Binoche's young assistant. Sadly, Mia Wasikowska, who was previously billed in the movie, is no longer on board.

As for Assayas (Carlos, Summer Hours), he's been on the rise as of late with his sterling '70s-set, coming-of-ager Something in the Air, which in comparison with Sils Maria, had a distinct lack of stars. Who knows, maybe Lindsay Lohan will be sniffing around his next project.
