'Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance' Remake In the Works

As we all wait with bated breath for Spike Lee's remake of Oldboy, let's make room for yet another Park Chan-wook remake. This time it's his Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance that's set to get reassembled in a foreign country. Yep, another day another remake, guys.

So who's the director bold enough to retread Park Chan-wook's footprints from 2002? That'll be Hany Abu-Assad, the Dutch-Palestinian film director behind the acclaimed Omar (2013) and Paradise Now (2005). So you can rule out the Hollywood high octane that Michael Bay and McG types surely would have pumped it up with.

As you may know, Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance is part of a Park Chan-wook trilogy, alongside Oldboy and Sympathy For Lady Vengeance, which, by the way, is also set for a remake, with Charlize Theron in the lead role. But we're not moaning about remakes or anything. Because that's just so passé, right?
