The Canyons Has an Awesome New Trailer

It's been kinda hard to keep up with the controversies surrounding The Canyons, the new film from director Paul Schrader (American Gigolo) and writer Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho), starring Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen. The film was famously rejected by both SXSW and Sundance. Unsurprisingly most of the controversies involve Lohan's petulant on-set antics, which you can read more about in the brilliant New York Times piece entitled "Here Is What Happens When You Cast Lindsay Lohan in Your Movie".

The newest trailer, which comes after a bunch of so-so teasers and a B-movie-style trailer, has landed and it's easily the most alluring yet, enticing the most vociferous haters. And if you look hard enough you'll even spot legendary indie director Gus Van Sant. Oh hey, Gus!

The Canyons is due to premiere at The Film Society of Lincoln Center on July 29th. Stay tuned for release dates.
