Watch the Trailer for the New Documentary About Thee Silver Mt. Zion

If you’re familiar with atmospheric post-rock bands in the vein of Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, chances are you’re also familiar with Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra (previously A Silver Mount Zion), another band who know exactly how to make an audience sway with their heads lowered.

Like other bands in the typically instrumental genre, the Montreal-based five piece have no frontman, no record covers featuring photographs of the members, and a generally enigmatic air about them. Which is why this new documentary, entitled Come Worry With Us! is so appealing for fans.

Unlike most on-the-road music docs, which focus on the drunken debauchery, Come Worry With Us! follows the daily struggles of the band, some of whom are in their mid-thirties and thinking about their future: “Why is it that there are so few women in their mid-thirties and beyond in bands?” The film explores questions of being in a band in the digital age and relying on tours – as opposed to selling records – as a way to make a living.

Directed by Helene Klodawsky (Malls R Us), Come Worry With Us! hits iTunes on May 13th.
