YouTube Viewers to Vote on Site’s First Film Fest

Last year we reported the arrival of YouTube’s first annual film festival, run by Ridley Scott and the Venice Film Festival. Now the Prometheus director wants you, the YouTube viewers, to vote on the 50 semi-finalists and select the final 10.

The ambitious project has been described as a “global competition to find the world’s best storytellers”. With this global scale it’s not surprising that they’ve already sifted through over 15,000 submissions from 160 countries. No wonder they need help.

Organisers are now looking for YouTube viewers to decide which lucky 10 finalists will have their work shown at Venice and be in with a chance of winning the big one: $500,000!

To check out the 50 semi-finalists and place your vote, head on over to the Your Film Festival page on YouTube.
