Mihut Boșcu

It seems an unlikely location for an upswell in contemporary art, but Cluj – Romania’s second most populous city, after Bucharest – is home to many of Eastern Europe’s most interesting project spaces, galleries and artists. Today, a short edit of the work of Mihut Boșcu, whose work blends a strange mixture of paranoiac, pop-cultural and tribal elements with the sort of assemblage art that might have been more at home in the 1960s Los Angeles of Ed Keinholz. We particularly like the disco ball with a beard, titled "Father Energy".
